Scenes from the Leporid Tarot
Imagine a Tarot deck in which each main character is a giant hare, solemn and grave. Each scene carries a contemplative message for our times, which I have explored for myself as I work on them one by one. At the time of our lockdown orders in March, I was working on "The Tower," a scene of complete chaos where all is destroyed, and new beginnings emerge. During the quarantine, I felt comforted working on "The Hermit," who turns inward to seek his own path. I grieve with the pandemic dead in "Judgement." I'm hopeful that we may be turning the corner with "The Wheel of Fortune."
